Quinton

My gracious neighbor let me take a few pics of her precious new little babe, Quinton. Here's a few of my faves.

As I was setting up the backdrop and getting ready for Quinton to come, Hailey pulled out her dolls and was using them with my props. We have a future photographer in training :)

No Tooth Yet!

So a couple weeks ago I looked at Carter and noticed that he had a huge gap in his teeth. I came closer to look, thinking that he had lost his front tooth. His tooth had not come out yet, but practically overnight his teeth shifted and he had a gap! I couldn't believe how fast it happened! The front tooth next to the gap is so close to coming out, so it will be interesting when it does come out, forming an even bigger gap! If you look close you can see that his adult tooth is coming in further over, so once it comes in, the gap will be smaller.

Carter's Christmas Program

Carter had a little Christmas program for the parents to come and watch during the week of Christmas. I ended up watching the neighbor kids while their mom went to the hospital to have her baby, so I sent Bryan with the video camera so that I could see the program as well.
The kids took a field trip to the Retirement Home the same week to perform for them too. Carter talked about this several times and was so excited to go.

Carter is in the blue shirt, front row if you can't see him! He did a great job and sang through the whole thing, which surprised me! In one of the songs the kids used a candy cane for one of their props. They were supposed to switch off, and when they did, Carter didn't end up getting a candy cane like he was supposed to. For a second he had a panicked look on his face, and then started doing the actions and singing, without the candy cane. I was really proud of him for not making a scene, and coming up with a solution. As I was watching the video I was just waiting for him to yell "Hey, I didn't get a candy cane." and making a big deal out of it. He didn't though, and I was proud of him!

The same day I got to help with Carter's Christmas Party. I had the kids make some cute little foam snowmen ornaments. I didn't get a picture of the ornament, but the kids really got a kick out of them. I love going into his classroom and getting to see the kids get so excited!

One of the moms that was supposed to help, couldn't come last minute. Bryan was a good sport and filled in for her. Here he is reading Christmas stories to the kids.

Chicken Pox and Potty Training

Hailey's cousin Jack had the chicken pox when he was here over Christmas. Unfortunately Hailey got it from him. The past three days Hailey has been miserable. She has been vaccinated for it, so we didn't think they would bother her too badly, but we were wrong! The first two nights she barely slept because she was so itchy and uncomfortable. Pretty much here whole body from her chest to the bottom of her feet are covered. Luckily today they started to scab over, and they are healing up. It's the worst when your kids are in pain and you can't do anything to help them! The first night that she had them, I slept in her bed with her so that I could reapply medicine every little while. After several hours of her sliding her feet along her sheets trying to itch her legs, I looked over at her and said "Honey, I'm sooo sorry that you are itchy."
Hailey then gave me the sweetest smile, rubbed my shoulder with her hand and said "Mommy, it's okay. I'll be okay mommy." What a sweetheart. She's comforting ME when she's the one in pain!

On a brighter note, Hailey is finally potty trained! She's been going on the potty for about a week, and doing pretty good as long as I remember to remind her to go! Today as she was going, I walked into the bathroom to check on her and she looked at me and said in the most excited voice, "Mommy, I'm potty trained!!!!!"

New Years 2012

Happy New Year to everyone!

We had a quiet evening at home and our neighbors came over to celebrate the New Year with us.

I kept my tree up and turned it into a "New Year's Tree". I took off the Christmas ornaments and put on Party Horns and Balloons. Inside the balloons I put Jokes, Quarters, and some Hershey Kisses. At midnight (or 10:00 which is when the kids celebrated), the kids got to pop the balloons and find their treasures.

Bryan making homemade pizza crust :)

Everyone enjoying their pizza and Orange Julius

I did a treasure hunt for the kids to let them run off their energy, and had the prize end under the "New Year's Tree". Here's Carter, Chayce, and Zach finding the Treasure.

Carter hoarding as many balloons as he can.....until I ruined it for him and told him to take one at a time. He was successful though, and found the $1 Jackpot!

Chayce was making me laugh because she was trying to pop the balloon with the pin, but cover her ears at the same time. She couldn't figure out how to do that with only two hands!

Jumping on the balloon is always a good way to pop it :) Too bad Paige didn't weigh enough to be successful!

I hope everyone has a Happy and Healthy New Year! We have some tough challenges this year with Bryans job, but we have so much to be greatful for. Family, Health, Friends, Home, the list goes on and on! I'm so greatful for my wonderful kids who make me smile everyday, and a great husband who makes me feel loved.
