While Daddies Away We Will Play!

Bryan went to Vegas for the weekend to go to a Rush concert with his brother-in-law, so we decided we needed to go do something fun too!
We spent the day with my parents on Friday. We took the kids to Boondocks. Carter and Hailey had a blast on the boat ride.

Here they are getting shot at with water. Luckily they are so short that it was hard to get them wet, so they didn't get too soaked!

Grandpa and Hailey played some table hockey while Grandma and Carter went to play Lazer Tag. My mom actually got in the negative for points......not sure how you do that, but she figured it out! Now I know where I got my sporting abilities from :)

Hailey playing in the sprinklers

After Boondocks we headed back to my mom and dads house. Eryn and her kids came over. She was husbandless for the weekend too, so we ordered pizza and let the kids play in the backyard.

On Saturday we headed to hang out with my friend Kate and her family. We decided to go over to Liberty Park which I haven't been to for YEARS. I'm really glad we went because that is an AWESOME park! We could have easily spent all day there!

The firefighters were doing some kind of fundraiser for the Make A Wish Foundation. They had out their hose and were spraying people down. Those things have a lot of power!

Here's Carter gettin' sprayed down! He was SOAKED, even for being so far away!

Jackson and Carter chasing their shoes

Liberty Park has these cool streams and pools that you can go play in. The kids had fun taking off their shoes, letting them go down the streams and trying to catch them.

I loved these streams. They had tons of shade so the parents can sit and watch their kids, and it's all free! We really could have stayed all day!

After that we went back to Kate's house and her husband cooked a REALLY good dinner of Steak sandwiches. They really hit the spot! The kids played for awhile and we headed back home!

Who Wants Some Lemonade!

Carter has been wanting sooooo badly to have a Lemonade/ Bakery Sale forever, so I finally made some cookies and rice krispies and got it together! Carter recruited his friend Hannah as well. I'm sure that anybody that lived within 2 blocks of us, knew what we were doing! They were quite persistent with anyone who drove or rode by! They also decided to give away free balloons to any kids that came which I thought was pretty cute.
Carter was really cute and said that every penny he earned he wanted to give to kids that do not have homes. Unfortunately he only made about $6 dollars, but hopefully after a couple more Lemonade Stands he will have enough to take in to donate.

Father's Day

My parents came up on Friday night for some BBQ chicken, potato salad, corn on the cob and cookies. Carter talked my dad into playing hide-n-seek. They used camo netting to "blend" into the weeds. What a good sport my dad is to lay in the weeds! I am so lucky to have a dad that has always been there for me no matter what and continues to be a good Grandpa to my kids.

Sunday morning the kids got up first thing to give Dad his presents.
I love how excited the kids get. Carter was counting down the days to Father's Day. He loves drawing masterpieces and giving them away.
Carter made a frisbee at his Day Camp for Dad, a fun card, and picked out his favorite treats at the dollar store and put them in a little metal tin. Hailey made him a cute card, and helped me pick out some yard gloves and a fireplace screen. I give very exciting presents, I know!

Bryan's Dad was supposed to come up for dinner, but unfortunately wasn't feeling well. Bryan's mom came up still and Bry grilled some steak and I made all the fixins'. I loved watching Bryan and his mom interact and hang out. They are so much alike it's hilarious! She made him a bench to put in the yard out of recycled wood. I will have to get a picture of it.

I could not ask for a better Dad for my kids. He is so fun and energetic with them, but also very loving and sensitive. Thanks babe for all you do for us!

The Hubs and I

Over the weekend Bryan and I were able to take a quick getaway to Park City. I haven't been up there in like a decade. I forgot how beautiful it is up there! If it wasn't so cold there, I would want to live there! We wanted to ride Bryan's motorcyle up, but the weather forecast said rain, so we didn't dare to chance it. Well guess what.....not a drop of rain, go figure!

We walked around Historic Main Street for awhile and ate dinner at Wasatch Squatters. The food was really good. The next day we went shopping at the outlets for awhile. I've only been there 1 other time, and it was along time ago. Now I know why people go there! We got some killer deals AND my husband shopped HAPPILY with me, which doesn't happen very often!

Then we headed to the Olympic Park and did their Extreme Zipline. It was really fun!

It was nice to getaway for awhile and have "no kid" time! I just love going out to eat, and not having to chase kids around!

I had to add this because as I was packing my bag for the trip, Hailey jumped in and yelled "Mom, come find me!" I think it's funny how kids think that when their eyes are covered that you can't see them. They don't think about the rest of their body!

The Hogle Zoo

The Boys......Daxton, Carter, Brock, and Kai

We went with Aunt Eryn and her kids to the Hogle Zoo. It was pretty busy, so I was stressing the whole time, not wanting to lose anyone! Other than that, the day was great!

You can tell that these guys just love each other......cousins are the best!

I have always adored babies since I was little, and Hailey does as well. She is always mauling poor Alivya! Good thing she has 3 siblings and is tough!

All the kids, minus Alivya

Kai, Carter, Brock and Izzy climbing a rhino
(Carter has his sandwich container in his mouth with his cookies and chips! He didn't dare to put it down and take the risk of someone taking it, silly boy!)

Kai and Hailey

Mini Golf

My parents came over the other day to watch Carter in one of his baseball games. The game actually got rained out but we were able to fit in some miniature golf and homemade mini pizzas! Now they just have to come up again!

Providence Days

Carter, Hailey and I ran the 1 Mile Fun Run for Providence Days the other day. I almost didn't do it, but last minute decided to go down and do it. I'm glad I did, because we won some cool prizes! Everybody that runs is entered into a drawing and wins something. Usually I win the lame t-shirt or something! This time I won a portable t.v.! Carter got a few coupons for some fun things to do.....miniature golf, ice cream, and roller skating. Then they drew the grand prize winner which was Carter! Guess what he won......................An Ab Glider! Every 7 year old needs and Ab Glider! I was excited, because what mom doesn't want to tighten up their abs! Carter was at the playground when he won the BIG prize, so when he came back I showed him what he won. He looked at it and said "Mom, I'll trade ya for the t.v." I think that's a pretty good trade except I felt really bad because the t.v. doesn't work where we live! It needs an antenna signal, which we cannot get in the valley. I think I owe him!

Later on we came back and played the carnival games and went on rides. It was a nice warm day for a change!

School's OUT!!!!

Above is a picture of Carter on his first day of school this year, and below is his last day.
Carter with his sweet teacher Mrs. Gettman

Carter was a little sad on the last day, he enjoys going to school to be with his friends, but we'll do lots to keep him busy this summer.

Carter has shown a huge improvement in school the last couple months. He was really struggling with focusing and he was getting behind in his reading. I held off putting him on ADD medication, not really wanting to do it. I decided to give it a try and the difference is huge. He has a much easier time focusing and Mrs. Gettman saw a huge difference. We were very excited to see him doing well! We are proud of Carter for all that he has accomplished!

Carter, Hannah, Hailey, and Mark

On the last day of school we headed to Willow Park to celebrate!

Ashleigh(Hannah's Mom) and I decided to get the kids Donuts for lunch which they were thrilled about!

Checking out the animals at the zoo.

Hannah was lovin' the porcupine

The grass was covered in cotton from the trees and Carter thought it would be a good idea to roll in it.

After we got home a cute little basket with goodies and fruit was delivered to us.
It read "To: Krista, Carter and Hailey

Hooray Summer Vacation Is Here! Love, Dad"

So sweet of Dad to think of us and send us a special treat.

Let the summer fun begin!
