Fall Festivities 2012

During UEA  break we got together with some friends and went to the Pumpkin Walk...

 Yoda doesn't look very happy...

 Morgan, Ayden and Hailey

Hailey has been OBSESSED with Ariel lately, so I thought this was very fitting....

 One of Cliffords little friends...

Enjoying the cookies that they give out at the Pumpkin Walk...

Another day this month my parents, brother and family came up to play at the American West Heritage Center.

I had to laugh because since Carter's older cousins Ty and Nic were there, he was trying to act "Macho" and wasn't sure he wanted to ride the pony.  We talked him into it though...

On our way to the Hayride...

 Grandma, Carter, Nic and Ty

Target shooting...

 Gourd Shooting...

I didn't get a picture of us going down the HUGE hill on a slide, but that was probably the kids' favorite of the day.

Hailey and Meili in the Corn Maze.....Luckily we had Uncle Glen with a map, to lead the way!

The boys had to split off and find the way on their own, luckily we all found each other at the end :)

 Hay Jumping...

 Carter taking the plunge...

Grandpa helping Hailey down for the Hay Jump....luckily she didn't try jumping!

They had all sorts of old fashioned games out for the kids to try!

Glen was on one side of the tug-o-war, and everyone else was on the other side....

Luckily Hailey came to the rescue!  Not sure what Uncle Glen would have done without her :)

This really makes you appreciate all of our modern tools, cutting wood is hard work!

Carter kept bugging me to bring him back later that night to the Haunted Hollow that they do at American West.  I told him if his Dad would take him, he could go.  Dad took him and his friend Hannah, and let's just say that it DIDN'T go over well!!!!  Poor Bryan had bawling children and a lady that worked there yelling at him telling him he's an awful parent!  I felt so bad!  I didn't think it was THAT scary, oops!

We made caramel apples one day.  Mostly the kids just licked the caramel off of the outside....

The weekend before Halloween the kids and I went to my parents house for dinner and then to a Carnival that the Junior High puts on.  After dinner, the kids had a little dancing fun.  It was hilarious to watch!  I will try to post the video at the end of this post :)

Nic (Ninja), Ty (Green Blob?),  Hailey (Superwoman), Carter (Vampire) and Meili (Dinosuar)

We showed up to the carnival which was really fun.  Unfortunately it only lasted about 15 minutes and then I ended up having to take Carter to the E.R.  He had been wrassling with one of the cousins earlier at dinner, and suffered a concussion.  I thought after it happened that he would be o.k. but his syptoms got tons worse.  We were on our way to the Instacare, and he started breathing really heavy and was unresponsive so I pulled over and called 911.  Paramedics showed up and luckily he was o.k.  Scary night though!  I'm so greatful for healthy kids!

Hailey stayed with Grandma and Grandpa and got to finish the games...

The night before Halloween we carved pumpkins...

The kids did most of their carving on their own, which was nice.  Pumpkin Carving is not my favorite thing!

The day of Halloween....

Hailey and I got to go help with the Halloween Party in Carter's classroom.  Carter is in the white shirt on the left.  He was dressed as karate kid, but took off the shirt since it was like 68 degrees that day :)

That evening we trick-or-treated for a little bit by our house, then met up with Bryan and the Tueller's by their house.  We were hoping to score better candy there in the "well to do" area, but I don't think it was any better!  Actually I think we get more chocolate in our area :)

The kids had fun swapping out costumes and dressing up as something different with all of the different Halloween parties they got to participate in.  So Halloween night they finally wore what they had "planned" to wear for Halloween.  Hailey was Ariel, and Carter was a Zombie.

As Carter was getting dressed for the evening he remembered that zombies can't talk, so he made a little sign saying "trick-or-treat" and hung it around his neck!  I thought it was pretty inventive!  He totally made his own costume and I didn't have to spend a penny!

 With the Tuellers....
