Our "Mini" Trip
We were going to go camping this weekend, but decided it might be a little too cold at night, so we opted to do Hotel Camping instead! We went up with our friends the Breretons on Friday night. We stopped at Ikea (obviously this was my pick) on the way and then headed to our Hotel in Lehi. Carter has NEVER stayed in a hotel before, so he was SUPER excited. I never realized that he hadn't stayed in a hotel, wow what a deprived child he is :) The only experience he has with a hotel is when Bryan was working for Bed Bath and Beyond. He worked night shifts for awhile doing remodels for them. Sometimes they would get him a hotel so that he could sleep peacefully during the day. Anyways, one time Carter and I came by his hotel and surprised him. We let him swim in the pool and then Bryan went to work, and Carter and I stayed the night and left early the next morning. He still talks about "Daddy's Hotel" to this day, so I figured we better give him the opportunity to stay in one.
On Saturday morning we went to Cabela's and let the kids check out the aquarium there. Then we headed up to American Fork Canyon and did some canoeing. The weather was perfect and scenery was beautiful.
After that we headed back to the hotel and let the kids swim in the pool. I told them that the only place they have permission to jump on the bed is the hotel, so they took full advantage of that!

Sunday we headed up to Timpanogos Cave. Bryan and I haven't been up there since we were dating 11 years ago, so it was fun to reminisce and take our kids up there. They both loved it and Carter was able to do the whole hike without complaining......go Carter!
Officially in my ThiRtiEs........eek!
I celebrated my 31st birthday on Wednesday.......I can't believe I am IN my 30's now, what a strange feeling because I still feel like I'm in my early 20's! I have such wonderful family and friends that made my day extra special! Thanks for all the cards and calls!
My parents came up and took me to lunch and then Bryan had his parents up and made dinner. Bryan and the kids did a few fireworks in my honor, how cute!
Bryan got me a SLR camera, and I am going to take a photography class this Fall so I am super excited to have a nice camera to experiment with!

Some Progress...
I thought I would post a few pics of the progress that has happened on the outside of our house. This is what it looked like when we bought it in 2007.
We still have some grass patches to fill in, and the screen door will come off. We have a new front door to install as well, so once that is done, it will look a lot better. I think we improved the curb appeal quite a bit. I'm sure our neighbors are happy they don't have to look at such an eye sore anymore!
We installed new windows, a new roof, new porch, sidewalk, siderails, and a brick stone wall. I'm so glad to see those ugly bushes GONE!
