Hailey has been making leaps and bounds lately! The last few times I have come into her room to get her up, she has been sitting up in her crib, woo hoo! Hailey is 15 months and has always been a little behind in her development. I wasn't too worried until the last couple months. After she turned one, I was thinking, gosh, Hailey still isn't pulling herself from a laying position to sitting. She should be doing this by now! I mentioned it to her pediatrician and he hooked me up with the up to 3 or Early Intervention program. I am so grateful for all of their help! They had a physical therapist, nutritionists, the works come to evaluate Hailey. So what they came up with is: 1-she has a little bit of low muscle tone, which causes children to take a little longer to do physical things, nothing major though 2-she is a very mellow, laid back girl, just not in a hurry 3-she is also a very picky eater and does not like anything with texture. They say as she starts to be more active physically that will go hand in hand with her eating, and willingness to try new things. They put her Self-Help skills at 4 months since she is not feeding herself at all, and her physical motor skills at 9 months. We have some work to do, but just the last couple weeks she has progressed quite a bit. She is starting to pull herself up to sitting and standing positions, and getting more stable when we help her walk. The Physical Therapist has been great to give me some ideas and pointers to get her moving and to work on strenghthening her muscles. He will be coming every two weeks to help her along this process. The nutritionist will come once a month to help us get on track with her eating and self-help skills. It is comforting to know that there are no major problems and she should be catching up very soon! I am so glad that there are such great programs out there!

Summerfest
We went to Summerfest on Friday. Carter really enjoys it every year because they set up a big tent and do a bunch of crafts and activities with the kids. Its only $2 bucks and they can stay in there as long as they want. Carter was allowed to pick one treat afterwards and to no surprise picked cotton candy. He devoured it until it was gone. A cute older lady stopped us as we were following Carter and asked if we had a camera. I said yes, and she said "you better get a picture of him, that is too cute!" She told us to enjoy every minute of it because they just grow too fast! Its easy to get caught up in the every day stresses of life, but it is so true that they will be grown before we know it!
Carter did share a little of his cotton candy with dad. He was poking Hailey with it and she was laughing hysterically. It was pretty cute!

Pre School Graduation!!
Carter really enjoyed going to Preschool. We are excited for the year to come and watching him learn and grow in Kindergarten. Carter is a social butteryfly and doesn't usually get nervous being around new people or situations so I think he will do great in Kindergarten. My only concern is that he really has a mind of his own. He does not like to be told what to do! I hope he listens to his teacher and stays on task!
Carter's T-Ball Team
Carter started T-Ball a couple weeks ago. It has been fun watching him learn the ropes of being on a team. The first couple games he didn't really care, and each time it was his turn to bat, the coach would have to "find" him. He was busy either climbing trees, chasing bugs, or bugging his teammates. He has done much better each game though. Carter is of course the smallest on the team(he probably should get used to it), but he is also the youngest on the team also.
